DEFINITION
A frequency shift detection method. The lidar directly downmixes the reference and the backscattered signals retrieving a (Doppler) frequency shift. Only the magnitude of the Doppler shift can be known, but not the sign. This means that we can infer only the module (and not the direction) of the wind speed vector. English
